Eder was known as ‘The Cannon’ to some and ‘The Vespasiano Bomb’ to others. Yes, you’ve guessed why.

Yet one of the most violent strikers of a ball in football history had a softer side. Ironically, a goalkeeper surnamed Rough found out the tough way. With Brazil 2-1 up on Scotland in the 65th minute, Serginho flicked the adidas Tango España west to Eder. Everyone inside the Seville stadium expected to the Brazil No11 to go for power, but he fooled them with subtlety and Alan Rough with one of the greatest chips the competition has ever witnessed.
